What is CrossFit?

CrossFit is a high-intensity fitness program that combines elements of weightlifting, gymnastics, and cardio exercises. The program is designed to be constantly varied, meaning that every workout is different and challenging. CrossFit workouts typically consist of a warm-up, a skill development segment, the “workout of the day” (WOD), and a cool-down.

During a typical CrossFit class, participants are led through a series of exercises that can include anything from pull-ups, squats, and deadlifts, to box jumps, burpees, and running. The workouts are designed to be intense and demanding, with the goal of improving overall physical fitness by increasing strength, endurance, flexibility, and cardiovascular health.

CrossFit is known for its sense of community, with participants often working out together and encouraging one another to push through challenging workouts. The program also emphasizes proper nutrition, with many CrossFit participants following a paleo or other whole-foods-based diet to support their fitness goals.

Overall, CrossFit is a comprehensive fitness program that challenges individuals to improve their physical fitness and overall health in a supportive and encouraging environment.

On-Ramp–before you start our workouts

Our On Ramp course is for anyone new to CrossFit.  On Ramp gives a beginner “athlete” dedicated time for teaching the basic mechanics and movements they’ll be expected to perform in regular classes. Beginners will learn how to safely execute movements and lifts so that when they show up to class they feel more prepared, less intimidated, and less likely to get hurt.  This will be a comprehensive 3 day course with each session lasting 1 hour.  Once you have completed the 3 day course you will have the basic knowledge to join any regular CrossFit class.

On Ramp class times are by appointment.  Times will need to be reserved ahead of time so we have enough coaches available for the class size. *not required for PrimeFit.
